About the Tour

The wondrous sights and sounds of Kenya will excite your senses. You will be entertained by the local people who will be taking care of your meals and needs when you are at camp.  Their laughter and smiles will light up your day.  On safari, seeing  the big cats is a highlight, our guides are superior spotters. I want to introduce you to all the wildlife there is to see, I want you to be in sensory overload  I want you to immerse yourself in the whole experience. Remember to put the camera down at times, and look and listen.

Experienced Driver Guides

The drivers are silver rated and photographically trained by professional photographers. They understand the needs of the photographers and the importance of  quickly positioning the vehicle for the best light, composition, and exceptional photographs.  The guides have vast personal networks, through which they receive private information about sightings.

Deluxe Photographic Safari Vehicles

The vehicles are fully extended Land Cruisers specially  designed to give photographers the most flexibility and maximum space. The sides of the Land Cruisers are open (no small sliding windows) with custom built in bean bags. Small bean bags are supplied to custom adjust the height.  The roof has a special roll back top, so there are no bars holding up a pop top which creates obstructions of  your lens placement.
 They ensure plenty of space and options for using clamps, panning plates and other gear you might want to bring with you.

Extra Weight Allowance

While you will driving for most of your safari, we recommended flying back to Nairobi at the end of the safari and we have included 1 scheduled flight from the Mara with extra weight allowance on your flight so your gear and luggage can remain with you.  Each guest will have 35 kgs.

I have 2 land cruisers at our command. Each person having their own seat row. I rotate riders that need help to be in the jeep I am in. I only take 6 guests

An Itinerary Glimpse

Are you ready to take your camera to the wild side of photography?   You will be met  by the hotel representative and transferred to your airport hotel for overnight stay. After breakfast, we depart for Amboseli National Park.

 On the way back through Nairobi to our next park,  a private visit to the Sheldrick Wildlife trust, to have a visit with the orphaned baby elephants. We will also visit the “tall blondes” at the giraffe center.

The following morning, we head toward  a new game reserve camp to explore for a couple days.  The sunrises and sunsets are not to be missed.

We will leave the game reserve and head towards another fabulous stop! You will see different wildlife, you won’t see elsewhere, along with both white and black rhino.

We will fly to Maasia Mara and spend 6 wonderful nights at 2 different camps before flying back to Nairobi.

Wildlife

Amboseli is known as the land of giants, that is where some of the last of the big tuskers are. 

Our game reserve, the wildlife experience is exclusive, with 19,000 acres of conservancy surrounded by 45,000 acres of ranch. Although our focus will be on the Rhinos, the reserve is inhabited by buffalo, zebra giraffe, antelope, lion, cheetah, and leopard.

Lake Nakuru is framed by stunning yellow acacia trees, Lake Nakuru boasts 450 species of birds and 56 species of mammals. The bird life at the Lake is mind blowing. Flamingos, pelicans, African fish eagles and too many more to list. There are parts that are huge canopies of lush forest, on occasion, one can see a sleeping leopard in the growth.  Upon leaving Nakuru, we will fly to our next destination…

The renowned Maasai Mara needs little introduction because it is arguably the greatest wildlife reserve on the planet! The vast, open plains are home to large prides of lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, black Rhino, hippos, Maasai giraffes, common zebras, gnu, impala, Thompson’s and grant’s gazelles, topi, black-backed jackals, spotted hyenas and more. It is the best reserve for the big cats, where BBC filmed Big Cat Diaries and where they continue to film regularly.

Continuing the Tour

 Your home for the epic  5 nights In Mara . We stay in The Mara Triangle Conservancy area for the first 3 nights. Sunrises and sunsets in Mara are legendary.   We stay out from sunrise to sunset, and bring a box lunch. You never know when some action may go down. Then we transfer to Mara North Conservancy

I teach you to work with the light. As with wildlife, sometimes you don’t have a choice when they decide to appear, but changing exposure techniques can render some wonderful results. Working with light, different focal lengths, shutter speeds and angles brings different results to your imagery.

While we are out in the land cruisers everyday, and we eat together at the lodge at night, it gives us many chances to talk about the days images, and what might be done different. Sometimes, it isn’t the whole animal that needs to be in your image.

During your 6 days in Mara, you will have a chance to encounter much wildlife, there are also lulls in sightings, bring your patience.

Upon your 6th day in Mara, we will game drive until noon . You will be flown via charter to Nairobi. We have a day room for you at a hotel near the airport where you can freshen up before departing home with all your wonderful memories and possibly, new friends.

The cost of this incredible photographic adventure is $9,895.00 per person. The price is based on double occupancy.

We would be happy to arrange a private room for you if there is availability. The supplement for a private room is $695.00 (if available, as single rooms are limited)

If a solo guest is unwilling to share and requests single accommodations upon registration, then a single supplement will be charged. If you are a solo guest, who will share accommodations, we will do our best to match you with another guest of the same gender. If we cannot match you with another solo guest of the same gender, then the single supplement will be charged, up to, but not exceeding the fee of the single supplement. In this case, whenever possible, we will try to discount the single supplement.

The price of this tour is based on double occupancy (two people sharing a room)

Important Note

The cost of this safari is based on a minimum of 6 participants. If there are less than 6 participants a small supplement fee will apply.

This is a photographic tour and you will need to have at some knowledge of your camera. The action goes down fast and even though I am helping with the settings, you have to know where things are on your camera, I do recommend gear that will yield you the best chance of capturing the images you dreamed of.

Unlike some of the photographic tours run by others, we start when the park opens, sometimes before first light in the morning and go until the park closes at 7pm .  Some camps we will be back for lunch and some will be all day. Boxed lunches are provided! We can spend the whole day looking for wildlife and scenery. We will using 4 wheel drive safari land cruisers with guaranteed window seats . 3 guests per deluxe jeep with 1 photographic instructor in 1 jeep.
