New tour! 19 days! This gives you more time to explore the Falklands and South Georgia . The journey begins in Ushuaia, Argentina, the world’s southernmost city and starting point of our expedition! Upon your arrival at the airport, you will be greeted by our staff and transferred to a quality hotel, which has been arranged by us and is included in the price of the itinerary. For the rest of the day, you are free to explore this vibrant port city and adventure hub. Upon embarking, you will be fitted with an expedition parka, boots and be enchanted by the views along the Beagle channel as you make your way toward the Drake Passage. As we sail along the Drake toward the Falkland Islands, you can attend one of the many lectures that talk about the wildlife, the history and what to expect, or stay out on the ships outer deck (weather permitting) and photograph Albatross, giant petrels, and other sea birds.
We will spend a couple of days in the Falklands, moving around the island in the ship, and doing zodiac landings, so many wildlife experiences waiting to be had. There are the Gentoo, King, Magellanic, Southern Rockhopper, and Macaroni penguins. The islands host around one million penguins during the summer months and the world’s largest population of Gentoo penguins, and numerous seabirds, geese, etc.
From the Falkland Islands, where we set sail across the Scotia Sea toward the snow-draped shores of South Georgia. Our vessel only carries 114 guests!! Our goal is to share the wildest wonders of this region with you—from raising a glass at Grytviken in honour of ‘The Boss’ himself, Sir Ernest Shackleton, to Zodiac cruises around Prion Island, a favourite haunt of the iconic wandering albatross, to standing dwarfed among hundreds of thousands of king penguins at St Andrew’s Bay and Salisbury Plain.
Enjoy the freedom to capture rare moments without rigid schedules holding you back. With 450,000 king penguins, it’s home to some of the planet’s greatest concentrations. Our flexible schedule should take us to key colonies at St Andrew’s Bay, Salisbury Plain, and Gold Harbour — at the best times to capture these awe-inspiring moments. We aim to Zodiac cruise into South Georgia’s wildest corners . At Cooper Bay, you might find macaroni penguins nestled in tussock grass, and also visit Grytviken, a historic whaling station and the final resting place of legendary explorer Ernest Shackleton. All while the remote, towering glaciers of Drygalski Fjord surround you in breathtaking, untamed beauty.
For those wanting even more adventure, I have a travel agent who can help set you up with trips in South America to see the pumas, Torres del Paine National Park, Patagonia Los Glaciares National Park, Patagonia or ask for me to put you into contact with them for more information,
November is spring in South Georgia, and king penguins begin to lay their eggs ashore. Humpback whales begin to arrive in the waters; seabirds return and begin nesting. Elephant seals come ashore to breed, with bulls fighting it out to see who will reign as ‘beachmaster’ and head of their herd. One will also find, Gentoo penguins Chinstrap penguins and Macaroni Penguins.
Our ship goes where other ships cannot follow. Our small expedition ship can navigate into protected channels and bays that are out of bounds to larger cruise ships. Importantly, her smaller passenger numbers mean that everyone can go ashore simultaneously at landing sites where regulations limit the number of visitors ashore. Our ship only carries 114 passengers, 14 will be kayaking, which means, all 100 can go ashore, no waiting on the ship while others take their turns.

This is a photographic tour, not a workshop, you will need to have some knowledge of how to operate your camera. Even though I am helping with the settings, you should be familiar with your camera, and have patience.
